General information on new service extensions is outlined below. Residential, business, and agricultural facilities each have specific extension requirements. Contact ECI REC for more information.
The Cooperative works with new member-consumers to place facilities at locations which are agreeable to both parties. If a member-consumer asks that the equipment be moved at any time in the future, the Cooperative will ask the member-consumer to pay the cost of the relocation.
Facility Extension
REC will finance and make the extension without contribution in aid of construction (CIAC), if the estimated construction costs are less than or equal to $1,000 for a single-phase facility or $2,500 for a poly-phase facility.
If the estimated construction costs are greater than ECI REC’s construction allowance listed above, the member will contract with the Cooperative and deposit a CIAC for construction equal to the estimated construction cost less the applicable cooperative construction allowance, no less than 30 days prior to commencement of construction.
The member-consumer will be responsible after initial installation by ECI REC for labor and material to backfill any trench or excavation due to setting.

To help us understand the demographics of your property and the locations of its buildings, Google Maps and Google Earth are two great universal resources. Both tools are very user-friendly resources that we've found many members and contractors already use, or are at least familiar with.
-
Google Maps is very similar to MapQuest and does not require you to download anything to your device.
-
Google Earth is a program app that is FREE and SAFE that you can download to your desktop or mobile device. (Requires a little more computer power than Google Maps.)
